The application period is open for the Seismic Rehabilitation Grant Program.

The state program run by Business Oregon aims to strengthen and improve public buildings to withstand disasters and be available in emergencies. The program is offering $45 million for public K‐12 school districts, community colleges and education service districts to use for facilities work. Eligible projects can receive as much as $2.5 million.

In recent years, school districts have used the grants in conjunction with local money to make facilities improvements they could not otherwise afford. It is one of the few state programs that addresses facility needs.

The deadline to apply is Jan. 10. Awards will be announced in May.
