American Education Week

November 11 - November 15

American Education Week happens the week prior to the week of Thanksgiving. Festivities honor the team of people who work in our nation’s public schools, everyone from the bus driver and classroom teacher to the cafeteria worker and administrative staff, plus countless others.

The weeklong celebration features a special observance each day of the week. They include:

  • Monday: Kickoff Day
  • Tuesday: Family Day
  • Wednesday: Education Support Professionals Day
  • Thursday: Educator for a Day
  • Friday: Substitute Educators Day

Use OSBA’s sample resolution to recognize American Education Week in your school or district.
