American Education Week

November 11, 2024 - November 15, 2024

American Education Week happens the week prior to the week of Thanksgiving. Festivities honor the team of people who work in our nation’s public schools, everyone from the bus driver and classroom teacher to the cafeteria worker and administrative staff, plus countless others.

The weeklong celebration features a special observance each day of the week. They include:

  • Monday: Kickoff Day
  • Tuesday: Family Day
  • Wednesday: Education Support Professionals Day
  • Thursday: Educator for a Day
  • Friday: Substitute Educators Day

Use OSBA’s sample resolution to recognize American Education Week in your school or district.

Oregon School Boards Association
What a day full of inspiring messages and bridge-building collaboration it was. The Summer Board Conference brings so many hearts and minds together that it’s hard to quantify the breadth of productivity packed into one day. With people from every corner of the state gathered under one roof, one common thread unites them all: building a better future for students in Oregon. #osba25sbc #oregon #education #publicschools #schoolboard #educationmatters #studentsuccess ...
