Government Relations Member Engagement Specialist

Bio

Lesley Rivers joined OSBA in July of 2026 as the Government Relations and Member Engagement Specialist. In this role, Lesley will provide additional lobbying capacity to the team and will help ensure that members receive timely information and the support they need to be effective advocates with their lawmakers.
Prior to joining OSBA, Lesley spent 5 years with ACT Now, the statewide afterschool network in Illinois. With ACT Now, Lesley advocated for increased funding for youth programs and led professional development for educators. She was also the project director for two federal education grants that created a network of community schools across the state. Before working in education advocacy, Lesley was a theatre teacher and director in Chicago. Lesley is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University and an avid Chicago sports fan. She loves exploring the Pacific Northwest with her two kids, two cats, and one husband.
