As Oregon districts wrestle with the best ways to handle cellphones in schools, the U.S. Department of Education has some advice.
The Education Department recently published “Planning Together: A Playbook for Student Personal Device Policies.” The document offers a model process for creating policies and steps to build understanding for the approach in the community.
The Oregon Department of Education has also created a guidance, “Fostering Student Learning, Well-Being, and Belonging.” OSBA worked with ODE on the document.
