The OSBA Board held a special meeting Thursday to fill four vacant positions.
The Board appointed Glenn Wachter of the North Clackamas School District to position 7 (Clackamas region), Clyde Rood of the Lebanon Community Schools to position 10 (Linn/Benton/Lincoln), Kristy Kottkey of the Forest Grove SD to position 15 (Washington) and Nancy Thomas of the Hillsboro SD to position 20 (Washington).
The Board also filled four vacant Legislative Policy Committee positions.
The Board appointed Mitzi Bauer of North Clackamas to position 7 (Clackamas), Kirsten Aird of the Lake Oswego SD to position 8 (Clackamas), Melissa Potter of the Beaverton SD to position 15 (Washington), and Jill Zurschmeide of the Tigard-Tualatin SD to position 20 (Washington).
New Board President Sami Al-Abdrabbuh also took a moment to welcome Tigard-Tualatin School Board Chair Tristan Irvin and Condon School Board Chair Nichole Schott to the Board. Irvin was newly elected to the Board in December.
Schott will be holding the Board seat for the Oregon Rural School Board Members Caucus, which members voted to create in December. The caucus, like the Oregon School Board Members of Color Caucus, has a voting position on the Board and the Legislative Policy Committee.
