The Oregon Department of Education has updated resources on its Early Literacy Success Initiative page to clarify some information. The updates are marked in the documents.
The initiative has created school grants to support improving early literacy and reduce academic disparities. The submission window opens Dec. 1 and closes Jan. 8. A district’s plan must be approved by the school board in an open meeting before Feb. 28.
ODE has also created new support documents: 11 Steps to Submit an Application and an FAQ.
