A delegation of 12 OSBA executives, OSBA Board officers and Oregon school board members traveled to Washington, D.C., for Advocacy Institute Feb. 1-3. The annual National School Boards Association event brings together education advocates from all over the United States to meet with members of Congress and advance equitable and inclusive learning environments. Sunday’s sessions included discussions of rural education opportunities, special education funding and federal law. Monday’s sessions focused on advocacy lessons, and Tuesday is when Oregon’s school board representatives will hold a series of meetings with Oregon’s congressional delegation.
