Updates to Title IX rules are again being delayed, this time until March.
The U.S. Department of Education is working on regulations dealing with sex-based discrimination and sex-related eligibility criteria for athletic teams. Originally, the update was promised for May 2023, then it was delayed to October.
The Education Department has received more than 240,000 public comments on sex-based discrimination and more than 156,000 on athletic eligibility. The public can still view the proposals:
