Small district self-directed superintendent search service

Hiring a superintendent is a school board’s most important responsibility.

OSBA has developed a new service to help school boards of small school districts and education service districts (1,650 ADM or less) conduct an executive search for a superintendent for a minimal cost.

Executive searches can be time-consuming and complicated. With this service, OSBA helps school boards hire the best candidate. The service will help boards navigate a search from start to finish, provide resources so the board doesn’t have to start from scratch, give guidance on Oregon Public Meetings Law, and outline information on best hiring practices.

For a flat fee of $2,500, the board will receive executive search manuals with step-by-step instructions and important resources as well as phone support with an OSBA executive search consultant. Also included are up to three hours of meeting with the school board via video or conference call, posting of the position on OSBA’s website and a superintendent salary comparison of similar Oregon school districts.
