Monday

10:30 a.m.: The Senate is scheduled to vote on:

  • Removing the sunset on the requirement that students must receive certain information related to statewide summative assessments (SB 602).

1 p.m.: The Joint Ways and Means Education Subcommittee will hold a public hearing on:

  • The Higher Education Coordinating Committee (SB 5528). 

3:15 p.m.: The Senate Education Committee will hold a public hearing on:

  • Requiring each public university and community college to prominently display mandatory fees charged (HB 2542A). 
  • Requiring education providers to prohibit display of any symbols of hate on school property or in education programs (HB 2697A). 
  • Requiring each public university and community college to prominently display estimated costs of all required course materials and directly related course fees for no less than 75% of total for-credit courses (HB 2919A). 
  • Limiting the ability of a public university to refuse new mandatory incidental fees (HB 3012A). 

Tuesday

10:30 a.m.: The Senate is scheduled to vote on:

  • Studying methods to diversify the teacher workforce (SB 232A). 

1 p.m.: The House Education Committee will hold a public hearing on:

  • Altering the composition of the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (SB 712). 
  • Permitting community colleges to allow each criminal justice course approved by a curriculum committee to be an eligible course for the social science cluster portion of an associate degree (SB 416A). 

Wednesday

10:30 a.m. The Senate is scheduled to vote on:

  • Requiring school districts to establish educational equity advisory committees (SB 732A). 

1 p.m.: The Joint Ways and Means Education Subcommittee will hold a public hearing on:

  • The Higher Education Coordinating Committee (SB 5528). 

3:15 p.m.: The Senate Education Committee will hold a public hearing on:

  • Prohibiting the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission from issuing a license or registration to a person convicted of a crime constituting domestic violence (HB 2135). 
  • Clarifying the terminology of persons who may be investigated or disciplined by the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (HB 2136). 
  • Requiring schools to offer lunches and breakfasts at no charge to students if the school meets provisions (HB 2536). 

3:15 p.m.: The Senate Education Committee will hold a work session on:

  • Broadening the eligibility of youths who may participate in a statewide youth reengagement system (HB 2051A). 
  • Modifying community plan requirements for the Preschool Promise Program (HB 2053). 
  • Modifying recipients of, and uses for, grants provided under the Early Learning Kindergarten Readiness Partnership and Innovation Program (HB 2054). 

Thursday

1 p.m.: The House Education Committee will hold a public hearing on:

  • Modifying definitions of "sexual conduct" for purposes of requirements for education providers related to abuse of and sexual conduct toward students (SB 242).
