What it does: Concurrent resolutions are passed by both chambers and are used to express sympathy or commendation or to commemorate the dead. The Senate has three concurrent resolutions this session that praise the athletic programs of Oregon’s universities. SCR 201 commends the Southern Oregon University Raiders softball team for their outstanding season and 2019 national championship. SCR 208 recognizes University of Oregon’s quarterback Justin Herbert for his outstanding season and remarkable career. SCR 209 commends the University of Oregon football team for their outstanding season and 2020 Rose Bowl championship.
What’s next: All three of these resolutions are scheduled for a public hearing at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, in the House Education Committee.
What it does: SB 1522 is the technical fix for SB 155 (2019) regarding the definition of sexual conduct, investigation rules, and mandatory child abuse reporters. It includes a number of other technical fixes for education laws.
