Monday

11 a.m. The Senate will vote on:

  • Making school board members mandatory reporters of child abuse (SB 415).
  • Requiring Holocaust and genocide instruction in schools (SB 664).

1 p.m.: The Senate Education Committee will hold a work session on:

  • Paying for vision screenings (SB 289).
  • Establishing the Indian Health Scholarship Program (SB 293).

3 p.m.: The House Education Committee will hold a public hearing on:

  • Academic content standards for histories on certain classifications of individuals (HB 2023).
  • Grants for supporting social, emotional, mental and physical needs of students (HB 2224).
  • Requiring comprehensive school counseling (HB 2441).
  • Increasing students served by school social workers (HB 2940).

3 p.m.: The House Education Committee will hold a work session on:

  • Decreasing school absenteeism (HB 2026).
  • Studying the adequacy of Oregon’s public education (HB 2964).

Wednesday

8:30 a.m.: The House Revenue committee will hold a public hearing on:

  • Creating a tax credit for teacher expenses (HB 2823).

1 p.m.: The Senate Education Committee will hold a work session on:

  • Requiring abuse investigations by the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (SB 155).

1 p.m.: The Senate Education Committee will hold a public hearing on:

  • Helping foster youths transition from community colleges to public universities (SB 158).
  • Increasing the State School Fund weighting for students in poverty, foster homes or state-recognized facilities (SB 535).
  • Paying for study abroad programs for foster children (SB 828).
