Advocacy campaign transitioning from town halls to state budget hearing testimony

Monday, March 11, 2019

Our lobby days, in partnership with the Confederation of Oregon School Administrators, continued the week of March 4 with attendees from Lane, Linn, Benton, Lincoln, and Marion counties in attendance. This week will be focused on supporters from eastern Oregon, and the week after that will be southern Oregon. Just a reminder that if you have not taken a trip to Salem yet, we are happy to slot you in to whichever week works for you. Sign up here.

We hosted our final town hall in Corvallis on Wednesday, March 6, and we are now focused on turning people out to the Ways and Means Committee roadshow, which will be in Pendleton on Friday, March 15. You can find the dates for the roadshow on our calendar.

As part of the Oregonians for Student Success campaign, we are looking to highlight the voices of students and how their education is impacted by school funding decisions. On Thursday, March 7, Hillsboro School Board student representative Jessica Jose-Nickerson from Century High School testified in Salem before the Ways and Means Education Subcommittee.

Stay tuned for the release of our first videos profiling these amazing students and their efforts to push for revenue reform.
