Monday

10:45 a.m. The Senate will vote on:

  • Expanding the definition of “child with a disability” for children in kindergarten through third grade (HB 4067-A).
  • Increasing money for school districts that is not considered local revenues (HB 4117).

1 p.m. The Senate Education Committee will hold a public hearing on:

  • Making class size a mandatory subject of collective bargaining (HB 4113).

The Senate Education Committee will hold a public hearing and possible work session on:

  • Providing that a person employed full time in the office of the state treasurer or the secretary of state may serve on the State Board of Education (HB 4013-A).
  • Studying the recruitment and development of educators who serve students at risk of experience an achievement gap (HB 4044-A).
  • Modifying the description of K-8 interscholastic activities that homeschooled and charter school students may participate in (HB 4036-A).
  • Requiring information be shared with students or staff following a sexual harassment investigation (HB 4150-A).

3 p.m. The House Education Committee will hold a public hearing and possible work session on:

  • Modifying requirements related to modified diplomas (SB 1522-A).

Tuesday

Deadline for most committees to hold work sessions on bills from the opposite chamber.

10:30 a.m. The House will vote on:

  • .Modifying the definition of child abuse for mandatory reporting (SB 1540-A).
  • Expanding the kinds of health care professionals who can clear a student athlete to play after a concussion (SB 1547-A).

1 p.m. The House Early Childhood and Family Supports Committee will hold an informational meeting on the plans of the Early Learning Division.

3 p.m. The House Higher Education and Workforce Development Committee will hold a work session on:

  • Removing federal identification rules for noncitizens applying for resident tuition (SB 1563-A).

Wednesday

3 p.m. The Senate Education Committee will hold a public hearing on:

  • Including class size as a mandatory subject of collective bargaining (HB 4113).

The Senate Education Committee will hold informational meetings on re-engagement policies and the data-driven turnaround in Tacoma Public Schools.

Friday

1 p.m. The Joint Committee on Student Success meets.
