ODE invites student insights for Oregon leadership
Friday, April 24, 2020
The Oregon Department of Education is opening a communication avenue between Oregon’s students and the state’s leadership.
ODE is inviting educators to facilitate conversations with students about their insights, ideas and needs and to share them to ODE’s “Elevating the Voices of Young People and Children” page. The website has discussion questions related to the school closures and a facilitation guide compatible with distance learning.
ODE staff will curate the submissions.
“We will invite and imagine powerful statements from your students being read out and shared in public spaces like the floor of the legislature prior to their work sessions, in front of board meetings, and community forums,” said the ODE announcement.
