The committee has been touring the state to gather ideas for a legislative plan to adequately fund K-12 public schools while improving Oregon education. The three work groups — Students Ready and Able to Learn, College and Career Readiness, and High Quality Classrooms — are addressing specific areas of public education to help narrow the committee’s focus.
Work groups will meet again Aug. 22 and 31 in the Capitol and Aug. 23 during the Oregon Coastal Caucus Economic Summit in Lincoln City. The committee’s next public hearing is Sept. 13 in Redmond.
