OSBA creates app to navigate convention sessions

OSBA is offering a mobile app for its 71st Annual Convention. The app allows attendees to plan ahead and build a personal schedule of education sessions.

The Nov. 9-12 convention at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront will offer more than 50 workshops. The convention, which is focused on “Leadership to lift our promise of graduation,” features more than a dozen graduation rate-related workshops. Topics include chronic absenteeism, career and technical education, trauma-informed practices, and intervention and tracking systems.

The app contains session descriptions for the full conference schedule as well as breaks, meals and receptions. It also allows attendees to download handouts, take notes, set up meetings with other attendees and discuss the day’s important topics.

The deadline to register for the convention is Oct. 30 so staff can prepare badges and materials. Onsite registration the day of events will be possible, though.

Convention registrants receive an email invitation to download and log in to the app from mailer@pathable.com. The app can be found in the Google Play and Apple stores with the search “OSBA Annual Convention.”

OSBA will not be handing out printed programs this year, but the convention’s webpage has a button for printing the full schedule or your personalized schedule.
