Workers younger than 25 are twice as likely to be injured on the job as older workers, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). High school-age workers tend to be more likely to switch jobs frequently or try new tasks, and they often avoid asking questions so that they can prove themselves and avoid looking inexperienced.
Oregon OSHA is offering online safety awareness training to help young workers protect themselves. The interactive training program, available for smartphones and tablets, takes about 45 minutes. It covers everything from workplace hazards to rights and responsibilities.
