ESSER data collection starts now

Tuesday, September 20, 2022

School districts must collect information starting this school year about how they are using federal pandemic relief money. The Oregon Department of Education wants to help districts prepare for the reports due in 2024.

The three rounds of Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funding require school districts to track data in three categories: student participation, school staffing and expenditures. Federal rules include detailed definitions of what counts and which category it must go in.

To assist districts, ODE has scheduled Office Hour sessions. Register at:

  • Sept. 28, 12-1 p.m.
  • Sept. 30, 10-11 a.m.
  • Oct. 3, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Oct. 5, 3-4 p.m.
  • Oct. 7, 12-1 p.m.

ODE’s ESSER Team will be facilitating the sessions and is also available to answer questions at ode.esser@ode.oregon.gov.
