Clean School Bus Program offers money to improve fleets
Wednesday, July 20, 2022
The Aug. 19 deadline is fast approaching for school districts to apply for federal money to upgrade their bus fleets.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean School Bus Program is offering $500 million this year and $5 billion over the next five years to replace existing buses with zero- or low-emission models.
All Oregon schools are eligible for rebates for replacing diesel-powered school buses and buses from before 2010. More than half of Oregon’s districts are on the prioritized funding list for schools serving rural and low-income areas.
The EPA will hold webinars July 27 and Aug. 10 to provide more information.
