Oregon free meal program includes summer camps and other enrolled sites

Oregon’s free meals program for children includes camps and other enrolled sites, according to the Oregon Department of Education. ODE has created a list of eligible locations.

The Summer Food Service Program helps children 18 and younger. Foster children and children in families already receiving food benefits are automatically eligible, and other children qualify for free or reduced-price meals based on family income. 

Federal waivers that allow free meals for all students will expire Thursday, but legislation passed last week gives school districts some continued flexibility and support to feed many students.
