  • Oregon School Board Member of the Year

Know an extraordinary school board member?

Tuesday, June 7, 2022

Outstanding school board members help steer their districts toward greatness, but the true marks of their success are the number of young lives they put on the pathways to success.

OSBA is taking nominations for the 2022 Oregon School Board Member of the Year. The award honors these dedicated volunteers who shape their communities.

The selection committee is looking for examples of initiative in advocacy, leadership and student achievement. The award is open to current Oregon school district, community college or education service district board members. Nomination forms are due by July 31.

The winner will be recognized at the OSBA Annual Convention in November and given a year of free registration to OSBA events. Winners also have their names listed on the OSBA website and a plaque at the OSBA offices in Salem. Past winners are Anne Bryan, Beaverton SD, 2018; Merle Comfort, La Grande SD and InterMountain ESD, 2019; Alicia Hays, Eugene SD, 2020; and Laurie Danzuka, Jefferson County SD, 2021.
