The Oregon Department of Human Services is offering grants to create shelters from extreme heat or cold or to escape unhealthy air from events such as wildfires.
Education providers willing to offer public shelter space can get money for mobile air filtration devices, ventilation improvements, and upgrades to heating and cooling systems.
The application is open to public school districts, public charter schools, education service districts and community colleges, as well as local governments, universities and tribal governments.
