Aligning state requirements would push back due date for Continuous Improvement Plans

The Oregon Department of Education is taking steps to align some school district planning and grant requirements.
ODE asked districts Tuesday to hold off work on their Continuous Improvement Plans until further guidance is offered in early 2022.
The 2019 Student Success Act directed ODE to explore combining school districts’ required reports and grant applications. ODE is working on a rule change to align the planning and engagement for submissions for High School Success, Student Investment Account, Continuous Improvement Planning, Career and Technical Education – Perkins V, Every Day Matters and Early Indicator Intervention Systems.
Schools last submitted Continuous Improvement Plans in December 2019, and current rules call for an update in 2022. ODE is aiming to make the CIP due in spring 2023.
