New dashboard offers quick look at COVID-19 metrics
Thursday, November 5, 2020
The Willamette Education Service District has launched a new dashboard to help school districts check counties’ coronavirus metrics.
The Oregon Department of Education on Friday revised its guidelines for when schools can offer in-person instruction. On Monday, the Oregon Health Authority released the first two-week reports based on the new metrics.
OHA will release new reports every Monday. Willamette ESD plans to update its dashboard every Wednesday.
ODE’s new metrics raise the number of cases a county can have before preventing in-person learning while also giving more consideration to local conditions. The two-week counts are cumulative, not averages. Schools have a 14-day window to open classrooms once metrics are met.
