Schools all over Oregon have been awarded $65 million in seismic rehabilitation grants.
The state agency Business Oregon announced 35 grants worth $75 million this week, including 28 for school building projects. Most school grants were between $2 million and $3 million.
The competitive Seismic Rehabilitation Grant Program provides funding for the seismic rehabilitation of essential public buildings, especially schools and emergency services facilities. Public K-12 school districts, community colleges and education service districts are eligible.
With this round, the program has funded 252 school projects since 2009.
