Gov. Kate Brown is expected to join school board members in celebrating the momentous Student Success Act at the OSBA Summer Board Conference.
The governor is scheduled to attend the July 19 networking reception to visit with school board members. The “Summer Camp for School Boards” runs July 19-21 in Bend with a variety of workshops for school district leaders.
In May, Brown triumphantly signed the Student Success Act, a historic and long-sought investment in schools, and has touted it as one of 2019’s key legislative accomplishments. The act is expected to generate $1 billion a year for education through a new business tax, starting in 2020.
