ODE webpage offers tools for helping undocumented students
Tuesday, November 27, 2018
The DACAmented/Undocumented Toolkit compiles immigration-related resources and information for district and school personnel.
The Oregon Department of Education created the webpage to help schools foster equitable and inclusive environments for all students, families and employees in Oregon’s schools. The website presents information in English and Spanish on students’ rights, higher education access and support services.
The toolkits emphasize that the 2017 ending of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program affected all students, not just undocumented students. ODE plans to update the webpage with priorities and resources identified by a collaborative of community leaders, higher education advocates, state agency partners, school personnel and students.
