Advocacy Preconference will give education leaders the levers to move policy

Tuesday, October 23, 2018

OSBA’s Nov. 8 Advocacy Preconference will offer  valuable tools and insights to help school board members and administrators engage their communities and advocate in the Capitol.

Registration for the one-day event closes Oct. 31, although onsite registration at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront is possible the day of the event. Workshop presenters will look at trends in Oregon voter support, midterm election ramifications and effective advocacy techniques. Board members will earn credit for the Leadership Institute.

Attendees can also register for OSBA’s 72nd Annual Convention in advance or Nov. 8-11 at the hotel. Many of the conference’s more than 50 workshops will focus on advocating for revenue reform and cost containment in 2019 and standing up for students. The conference offers opportunities for learning, networking and inspiration.

OSBA’s convention weekend includes the Nov. 8 Administrative Professionals Workshop and the Nov. 9 Council of School Attorneys Workshop.
