Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce invites candidates to forum tonight

The Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a candidate forum at 6:30 tonight at the Sandy Senior Center, 38348 Pioneer Blvd.
The forum has invited Senate District 26 Republican Sen. Chuck Thomsen and Democratic challenger Chrissy Reitz and Oregon House District 52 Republican Rep. Jeff Helfrich and Democratic challenger Anna Williams.
OSBA Executive Director Jim Green said election season provides an important opportunity for education advocates to determine where candidates stand on the need to fund K-12 schools to the Quality Education Model.
“Our students need lawmakers who understand why we should be investing more in young people,” Green said.
OSBA members have consistently identified revenue reform and cost containment as their top legislative priorities.
