Wednesday, May 2, 2018
The Educator Advancement Council has appointed Bill Graupp as its school board representative. Graupp is the North Marion School Board vice chair.
The 2017 Legislature created the council to help develop and retain teachers, as well as improve teacher diversity. The council announced its inaugural appointments Wednesday and held its first meeting. The 21-seat council includes educators, administrators, Oregon Department of Education staff and leadership, and nonprofit representatives.
“We’re making Oregon a more attractive place for teachers,” Graupp said.
Graupp said the council’s first task was to create teacher networks for support and communication.
