New ‘Promise Stories’ debut today on website

Monday, February 6, 2017

Over the last three years, the Promise of Oregon campaign (www.promiseoregon.org) has celebrated the accomplishments of our state’s public-school students through hundreds of Promise Kids statements that describe their aspirations. Starting today and over the next several weeks, a series of Promise Stories will delve deeper into how these students are using Oregon’s public schools as a ladder to success – in some cases despite significant hurdles in their path. This is an image of Promise_Logo_Blue

These are stories of determination, courage and an unwavering desire to succeed. From new immigrants to aspiring pilots to a boy fascinated by bugs, these are the young people who will shape Oregon’s future. Please share their tales with others, and join us in the Promise campaign’s goal of ensuring that we adequately invest in our public schools.

  • You can read the first Promise Story, about a Eugene boy born with a critical heart defect, here.
