Questions about the legal aspects of distance learning?

All schools have now transitioned from traditional in-person teaching models to distance learning for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year.  What unique legal challenges have arisen in this context?  OSBA attorneys and labor staff will provide guidance on a variety of laws impacting the distance learning model including: student privacy; complying with COPPA and CIPA; and complying with copyright law.  Finally, OSBA staff will discuss how schools can continue to protect staff and students from harassment, bullying and other inappropriate conduct in the distance learning model.
