American Education Week

November 13-17, 2017

American Education Week—November 13-17, 2017—gives everyone a great opportunity to celebrate public education and honor people who make a difference in providing every child a quality education.

“Education Week has special meaning for Oregon this year,” said Jim Green, executive director of OSBA. “We need strong schools to ensure a bright economic future for Oregon.”

Green called on his fellow education advocates to renew their commitment to that cause during American Education Week.

The weeklong celebration features a special observance each day of the week. They include:

  • Monday, November 13, 2017: Kickoff Day
  • Tuesday, November 14, 2017: Parents Day
  • Wednesday, November 15, 2017: Education Support Professionals Day
  • Thursday, November 16, 2017: Educator for a Day
  • Friday, November 17, 2017: Substitute Educators Day
