Jim Green

Jim Green joined the Oregon School Boards Association as the Deputy Executive Director in March 2012. He’s no stranger to the Association, however; from 1992-2007 he served as a lobbyist for OSBA. Subsequently, he worked as a lobbyist for a Fortune 500 corporation and practiced law privately with Harrang Long Gary Rudnick, P.C., where he also provided lobbying services for clients of the firm before the Oregon Legislature and various administrative agencies.

Jim is a fifth-generation Oregonian and a product of the Oregon public school system. He believes that giving back to one’s community is a civic responsibility we all must embrace to make Oregon a better place to live. In that spirit, he donates time and expertise to his local school district – Salem-Keizer Public Schools. He served on the district’s Budget Committee as a public member from 2007-2011, and chaired the Budget Committee for two consecutive school years. In 2011, voters elected him to the Salem-Keizer School District Board of Directors for a four-year term, where he represented Zone 4 (most of the South Salem area). He also volunteers his time as a little league coach with Sprague Little League.

A member of the Oregon State Bar, Jim received his undergraduate degree in political science from Oregon State University and his Juris Doctorate degree from Willamette University College of Law.
