HRD/PACE Workshops

Professional-development workshops for administrators, human resource staff and personnel directors.

Agenda (39k Acrobat PDF Format)

So Now You're a Supervisor
October 8 - Seven Feathers, Canyonville - Canceled
October 15 - Redmond School District, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Yes, Virginia, there really are things they didn't tell you about being a supervisor!

And this workshop, presented by OSBA human resources specialists and school-law attorneys, delves into them to help you be a successful manager. It includes practical tips for getting off on the right foot managing employees as well as a checklist for supervisors so they may first "manage" their own management procedures.

You should attend if you are new to management, a new front-line supervisor or you're a returnee who needs a refresher to feel confident when dealing with the many issues in personnel management.

Recent Case Law and Impacts on Contract Administration
October 22 - Multnomah ESD, Portland, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Review the implications of the latest school law cases to come out of the Employment Relations Board, the Bureau of Labor and Industries and the courts with an OSBA school law attorney.

This workshop focuses on the impact these case have - or can potentially have - on administration and bargaining, delivering practical tips that will help you prepare for "fallout" or avoid it altogether.

A "must-attend" for school district, education service district and community college bargaining team members and staff whose positions rely on having a good grip on the latest laws and regulations affecting school employment.
