Mentor Advocacy Partnership

The Mentor Advocacy Partnership (MAP) is a coalition of Oregon educational organizations supporting the use of mentors as part of a teacher induction program.

MAP believes that mentoring is an essential component for assisting early career teachers to become competent and confident professional educators who make a positive impact on student learning. MAP will compile and utilize research relating to best practices to identify effective models, develop a clearinghouse for this information and establish a strategic plan for systematic change that would support mentoring programs in schools throughout Oregon.

The agencies that support MAP are:

  • Confederation of Oregon School Administrators

  • Northwest Christian College

  • Northwest Regional Education Laboratory

  • Oregon Business Council

  • Oregon Department of Education

  • Oregon Education Association

  • Oregon School Boards Association

  • Oregon School Personnel Association

  • Pacific University

  • Portland State University

  • Teachers Standards and Practices Commission

  • Western Oregon University

For more information about the Mentor Advocacy Partnership contact Ron Wilson E-mail Ron Wilson., OSBA’s Associate Executive Director.
