Litigation Services
- OSBA attorneys will represent you, or assist your counsel, in court. Areas include defamation, slander, sex discrimination, harassment, student and employee discipline. OSBA legal staff
work exclusively in school law; plus we draw on expertise in areas of board policy and collective bargaining.
Administrative Hearings
- We can represent you at administrative hearings and arbitrations in all areas of employment disputes, such as teacher dismissals (Fair Dismissals Appeals Board), labor law (Employee Relations Board), discrimination and equal opportunity matters. We will assist with local board-level hearings for staff and student cases.
Public Charter Schools
- We'll help school boards prepare for applications with a focus on student achievement. Services include charter application review and analysis; assistance with application negotiations; charter application oversight; assistance during appeals and monitoring progress.
Superintendent and president contracts
- OSBA works with boards to draft and negotiate new or renewal employment contacts for superintendents and college presidents.
Custom regional workshops
- Legal staff can tailor a legal workshop on topics such as discrimination, hiring/termination issues, special education
- whatever issues you're facing, either as a board; or join with neighboring boards for a regional workshop.

This advice is always a supplement to, and not a replacement for, the legal advice from each district's local counsel.
