In the workshop you will learn techniques for engaging in those difficult conversations around the tough issues in your district. You will be shown how to better manage interaction with co-workers, parents, staff and the community. Leadership styles will be explored and explained for maximum effectiveness with various groups and your own team or board interaction.

The workshop will also begin professional development around the use of student achievement scores as a planning resource for the district. Your own student achievement scores will be used as the model for your development of strategies for use.

Format: Teams from each Bridges district consisting of board members and senior administrators

Registration Form (330k This document is in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Click here for help.). The registration deadline is February 22, 2008

Hotel reservations: Please make room reservations with the hotel directly by calling the Renaissance Inn, 800-299-7221. Tell them you are attending the OSBA Bridges to Achievement workshop. The deadline for hotel reservations is Feb. 15.

In order to maximize each Bridges district's opportunity to send board members and senior administrators (K-12 and ESD), OSBA will be paying for lodging and meals for board members and up to 4 senior administrators in each district. Lodging will be at the Renaissance Inn for the night prior to the workshop, if needed, by those districts required to travel quite a distance. OSBA will also provide meals while on-site. No registration fee will be charged.

We think this workshop will provide a unique opportunity for your board and leadership team to work as a group to improve its leadership skills and begin development of student achievement data as a planning resource for improvement of program.
