Oregon’s math score of 526 was three points lower than last year and higher than the national average of 515. Oregon’s critical reading score of 522 was one point lower than in 2006, but still higher than the national average of 502.

The 2007 SAT included writing for the second year, and Oregon’s writing score was 502, higher than the national average of 494. Nationally, math, critical reading and writing scores declined from 2006. Of states in which 50% or more of the students took the SAT, Oregon’s scores continue to be the second highest in the United States.

SAT scores for individual schools are reported as part of the school report cards, released by the Oregon Department of Education in October.
