| Welcome the public to your school board meeting
OSBA has created a brochure you can use to "Welcome" the public to your school board meeting.
The brochure offers a friendly description of how meetings are conducted and how citizen input fits into the agenda. It explains terms such as "consent agenda," action vs. report items and information on executive sessions.
A key part of the brochure is describing how to address the board at a meeting. It describes a four-step process for a member of the public to follow when speaking at a board meeting.
The brochure describes the board's role in the governance structure of a school district and answers the question "Who can be a board member?".
The template can be used as formatted, in both English and Spanish. Also provided is a text-only version of the brochure so you can customize the brochure to your specific board meeting.
