The Oregon
School Boards Association
coordinated the
distribution of Brady Fund
Grants to needy students
again this year.
In 2007, OSBA received 993 applications for assistance to needy students and their families in the form of $25 grants from the Robert Brady Charitable Trust, from which OSBA distributed $13,200. Fifty-four school districts requested grants.
The Robert Brady Charitable Trust was set up in 1936, upon the death of Robert Brady, a Portland businessman. It continues to help needy public school students purchase school supplies or clothing or to help pay for vision and dental services. The Robert Brady Charitable Trust makes contributions to other Oregon philanthropic endeavors, as well.
OSBA calls for applications for the Brady trust grants in the fall. Watch
here for announcement of the next round of grants.
