Board of Directors
Board adopts governance election rules
January 15, 2008

At its Jan. 11-12 meeting in Salem, the OSBA board adopted the following rules regarding implementation of the new governance structure:

  • E-mail lists of OSBA member addresses, by geographic area, will be available at no charge to candidates, along with instructions on proper use of e-mail lists.
  • Candidate information (from applications) will be posted on OSBA’s Web site as soon as received. OSBA will link to candidates’ Web sites, if candidates provide URLs.
  • Candidates may apply for only one position in areas with multiple positions.
  • In geographic areas with more than one board position, candidates must note which numbered position they are seeking.

Example: In the Multnomah area, positions include 17, 18 and 19. Position 17 will be taken by President-elect Annette Mattson (David Douglas) because she becomes president in 2009. Position 18 and 19 are open. Other areas with more than one position are Marion (positions 11, 12), Clackamas (7, 8), and Washington (15, 16).
