OSBA Officer, Board Candidates

The OSBA Nominating Committee presented its slate of candidates to the OSBA board at its Sept. 23-24 regular meeting. The new board will assume office after the election at the annual business meeting, Saturday, Nov. 12, during the 59th Annual OSBA Convention at the Portland Marriott Downtown.
David Beeson, Silver Falls, currently president-elect, automatically takes over as president after the election.
Jeff Sanders, Jefferson County, is the committee’s pick to run for president-elect. He is currently OSBA’s vice president.
The committee nominated Craig
Prewitt, Phoenix-Talent, currently an at-large member of the OSBA board, and
Paul Zastrow, Region 9 ESD, for vice president.
Annette Mattson, David Douglas, currently representing the 3rd Congressional District, was nominated for secretary-treasurer.
The committee nominated the following candidates as directors representing congressional districts:
First Congressional District – Nominees for the open one-year position include
Fred Marble, Forest Grove, and Patti McLeod, Hillsboro.
Francis Charbonnier, McMinnville, is completing his first two-year term and is eligible for re-election to a second two-year term.
Second Congressional District –
Trayce Geddes, Rogue River, and Dave Krumbein, Pendleton.
Third Congressional District –
Harry Ainsworth and Sy Kornbrodt, both Multnomah
ESD.
Fourth Congressional District –
Dean Livelybrooks, Crow-Applegate-Lorane, completing a first two-year term, is eligible for re-election.
Fifth Congressional District –
Thomas Kosinski, Nestucca Valley, and Krina Lemons, Salem-Keizer, will run for two-year terms.
Director at large –
Scott Pillar, High Desert ESD, is completing a first two-year term and is eligible for re-election.
Voting will take place Saturday, Nov. 12, at OSBA’s annual business meeting during the convention.
Under OSBA’s constitution, members may nominate additional candidates by submitting a petition signed by 15 board members representing at least three member boards at least 15 days before the annual meeting. The nominee’s consent must be included with the petition. Ten days before the annual meeting, a notice containing the names of nominees must be sent to member boards.
Before the committee’s selection, OSBA sent letters to all board members requesting names of those interested in running for open positions.
The nominating committee consisted of OSBA Past President Carolyn Ortman, chair; Maria Caballero, Gervais; Jean Haliski, Multnomah ESD; and Sherry Duerst-Higgins, South Lane and Lane ESD.
