OSBA Board appoints Beeson, Sanders

Due to the recent resignation of OSBA President-elect Craig Smith (Eugene), the OSBA Board voted to appoint two OSBA Board members to the positions of president-elect and vice president, effective immediately:

OSBA Vice President David Beeson (Silver Falls) will replace Smith on the Board as president-elect. According to OSBA's constitution, Beeson will become president following the Nov. 12 Annual Meeting. The board appointed Secretary-Treasurer Jeff Sanders (Jefferson County) to Beeson's position of vice president, a role he will assume in addition to his current OSBA Board duties. Letters, including nomination suggestion forms, will be mailed to all OSBA members on July 25 as part of the annual nomination process for open positions on the OSBA Board. Nomination suggestion forms are due by 5 p.m. Sept. 13 and will be considered by the Nominating Committee.

To fill the president-elect vacancy, President Peggy Penland convened a "virtual board meeting" using email during a set time from July 18 to July 20, with opportunities for discussion. A quorum was reached within this period.
