OSBA lobbies on behalf of public education, guided by the legislative priorities developed by the Legislative Policy Committee. OSBA arranges board-member appearances and provides expert testimony in committee meetings and hearings. Each Friday during session, we publish Legislative Highlights. Legislative and Advocacy Publications
A newsletter containing the latest news and information on activities at the Oregon Legislature that affect public education. It is published weekly during Oregon's biennial legislative session.
The 2011 OSBA/COSA Legislative Report contains a description of each of the bills signed into law following the 2011 Legislative Session. It was prepared with the collaboration and cooperation of staff at the Oregon School Boards Association and the Confederation of Oregon School Administrators. Together, OSBA and COSA work to ensure the interests and viewpoints of locally elected school board members and public school administrators are given a voice at the Legislature when laws affecting public schools are proposed and deliberated.
