Stepping up - The Oregon Business Plan

The Oregon Business Plan is a statewide initiative of Oregon's business leaders started in January 2003 to shape a vision for what the economy could look like by January 2013.  The Education initiative for 2013 aligns the plan with the Governor's 40-40-20 plan and includes the following recommendations:

  1. Make strategic investments to support redesign and key educational outcomes.
  2. Redesign funding models to encourage innovation and improved outcomes.
  3. Coordinate all college and university funding (including scholarships) and oversight through a single state entity.
  4. Revamp state education agencies specifically to support seven functions necessary to support Oregon’s strategy for education improvement and innovation.
