About the Postion

South Umpqua School District is seeking a leader with an outstanding record in the field of education to serve as superintendent beginning July 1, 2016. The Board anticipates a base salary in the range of $115,000 to $125,000 plus benefits for the position.

The South Umpqua School District, consisting of 1,475 students, stretches along the I-5 corridor in scenic Douglas County, approximately 20 miles south of Roseburg, Oregon. This district is nestled in the South Umpqua River valley midway between Eugene and Medford, serving students from the communities of Myrtle Creek, Tri City, and Canyonville. About the Community 

Recreational and cultural opportunities abound in the region. The district is conveniently located near a multitude of scenic byways, local vineyards, and wineries. The North and South Umpqua rivers offer many outdoor opportunities, including premier salmon fishing. Within 90 minutes, residents of this community can travel west to the Oregon Coast, east to the Oregon Cascades, north to Eugene, and south to Medford/Ashland.
