Roseburg Public Schools is looking for an energetic leader with a passion for student achievement and with demonstrated success in teacher and curriculum development.  Roseburg is a rural school district that enjoys a high degree of teacher commitment and  community support.

The Area:

Roseburg is a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. The North Umpqua River, which naturalist Zane Gray called the most beautiful river in the world, winds through this family- centric community.   Located centrally to majestic mountain ranges, sleepy coastal villages, Crater Lake National Park and the metropolis of Eugene, Roseburg is also home to an historic downtown, a museum of natural history, the Umpqua Valley Arts Center, the Festival of Lights,  and the renowned Music on the Half Shell.  There’s something for everyone in this kid safe, welcoming and inclusive town.

The District:

Roseburg Public Schools serves over 6000 students on 12 campuses: 1 high school (9-12), 1 charter high school, 2 middle schools (6-8) and 8 elementary schools (K-5).  Committed to excellence in every aspect of its operation, the district has gained a reputation as a school system dedicated to achieving high standards for all students.  The community is supportive of our local schools with many employers and service groups encouraging and facilitating volunteerism on our campuses.

Desired Qualities and Qualifications:


  • Master’s Degree in Education or related field 
  • Oregon Administrator’s License 
  • Academic background in staff supervision, staff development, curriculum and instruction, assessment and educational reform

Demonstrated Proficiencies: 

  • Displays collaborative leadership style
  • Possesses knowledge of Oregon Education Standards
  • Has experience in student assessment and specialized program needs
  • Applies best practice instructional methodologies
  • Utilizes data driven decision making and statistical evaluation for program development
  • Able to  work successfully with students, parents, staff and the community
  • Experience in budget preparation and fiscal management
  • Skilled in staff management and knowledgeable in labor law
  • Promotes cultural diversity
  • Able to implement building level educational reform
  • Uses technology effectively and efficiently


  • 2014-2015 Salary - $78,082 - $87,883 
  • 11 - month contract 
  • Benefit Package (medical, vision, dental, disability and life with district-paid retirement fund contribution)
